About Us

Who we are

Respiratory Clinical Trials (RCT) is a specialist clinical trial management organisation excelling in studies on respiratory ailments with a focus on allergy, asthma and COPD.

RCT works to Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) guidelines and is housed in the Queen Anne Street Medical Centre (QASMC), an independent hospital located in the heart of Central London which is approved and licensed by the Health Care Commission.

RCT specialises in phase I-III clinical studies which utilise the clinical and scientific expertise established at the Royal Brompton Hospital over many years of research in the respiratory area. RCT along with the Heart Lung Centre (HLC), our clinical trial unit based at QASMC, has proven success in performing high quality clinical research complying with UK Clinical Trials Legislation and EU Directives 2001/20/EC and 2005/28/EC.

RCT has been founded by senior academic staff from the Royal Brompton Hospital and King’s College Hospital, London. Brian Leaker, a Consultant Physician and Clinical Pharmacologist formerly based at UCH and Royal Free Hospital, founded QASMC and RCT as the Medical Director.
